You have a bright new digital standee at your entrance. Now what should it show? Here are content ideas that work, organised by industry, and a few rules that make any content more effective.
Restaurants and cafés
- Today’s specials with a large photo and price.
- Combo offers and happy-hour timings.
- A short video of a dish being prepared: motion stops people walking past.
Hospitals and clinics
- Doctor profiles with specialities and OPD timings.
- Health check-up packages and their prices.
- Health tips and awareness messages for the waiting area.
Real estate
- Project walkthrough videos and 3D renders.
- Floor plans, sizes and starting prices, one configuration per slide.
- Amenities and location highlights: schools, metro, malls nearby.
Retail stores and malls
- New arrivals and sale banners that change with the season.
- Brand videos supplied by the brands you stock.
- Wayfinding and store directories in malls.
Rules that make content work
- One message per slide. People glance for a few seconds. A headline, an image and a price or call to action is enough.
- Design for portrait. Standees are tall. Create content in portrait (for example 1080 × 1920 pixels) so it fills the screen.
- Use big, bold text. If you can’t read it from three steps back, it is too small.
- Keep loops short. 5 to 8 slides of 6 to 10 seconds each means someone waiting sees everything.
- Refresh regularly. Change content at least monthly so regular visitors keep noticing it.
- Add a next step. A QR code to your WhatsApp, menu or website turns attention into enquiries.
Updating is easy: copy the files to a USB pen drive or push them remotely through CMS. See how to update content on a digital standee.
